Hearne, Maurice Henry

Maurice was born on the 15th November 1925 in Kilkenny, South Australia, and he enlisted in the RAAF in Adelaide on the 25th January 1944.  

During the War, he was a member of 452 Squadron. Maurice was discharged from the Squadron on the 15th January 1946.

Maurice was a member of the 452/457 Squadron Association of South Australia. He was living in Warradale, South Australia, when he died in November 1995 as a result of a motoring accident in the Riverland area. No one else was involved in the accident, and he had suffered ill-health for a long time. 

The 452/457 Squadron Association organised the funeral. Many of its members attended, including Bill Thorpe who read the “Ode”.
