Branson, Peter

Peter was born in July 1926 in the UK. He was an RAF Sergeant Instrument Maker and he came out to Australia on the “Stirling Castle” with 54 Squadron. He arrived late in 1942 with the other Squadrons of the Wing, namely 542 and 547, which had been stationed in the Isle of Man. When in Australia, they were known as No 1 RAAF Fighter Wing and stationed at Livingston Strip, near Darwin.

He returned to the Old Country in 1945, married his pharmacist wife and emigrated to Australia in 1953. He has lived in Melbourne ever since.
