Les was born on the 21st August 1920 in Brighton, Victoria.
He enlisted on the 9th April 1941 and was a Leading Aircraftman with No. 3 Wireless Unit at Batchelor in the Northern Territory.
Tragically, Les died of an illness in Mt Isa, Queensland, on the 23rd January 1944. He is buried at the Adelaide River War Cemetery in the Nothern Territory. (See photo) Roy was the son of Florence and Kathleen Boyd of North Brighton, Victoria. The other photo is of the cortege for Roy.
